Charles III (born November 14, 1948, Buckingham Palace, London, England) king of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from September 8, 2022. He is the eldest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, duke of Edinburgh.

After the death the Queen Elizabeth II on the 8th of September 2022, King Charles III, formerly known as The Prince of Wales was elevated into the royal throne. King Charles is being treated for an illness that is cancerous According to Buckingham Palace.

The exact type of cancer hasn’t been identified – it’s not prostate cancer. However, it was discovered in his recent treatment for a enlarged prostate.

The King started “regular treatments” on Monday and is scheduled to postpone his public duties throughout the week The Palace announced.

The Monarch, aged 75, “remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible,” it said.

The details are not being provided regarding the status of the cancer or a prognosis.

Charles himself informed his sons in person about his diagnosis. The Prince of Wales was reported to be in constant contact with his father.

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who is a resident of the United States, spoke to his father. He’ll be traveling back to the UK to visit his father in the near future.

The King has returned back to London following his visit to Sandringham located in Norfolk on Monday, and the palace confirms that the King has begun treatment as an outpatient.

While he is expected to halt his public appearances however, the King will keep his constitutional duties as head of state including private meetings and paperwork.

It is believed that his weekly meetings with Premier Secretary Rishi Sunak will go on and will be in person unless a doctor advises him to reduces the frequency of his visits.

There’s a constitutional procedure to take over when the head state is not able to carry the duties of his official position – in this situation “counsellors of state” can be appointed to substitute as the head of state.
